Students will learn about conceptual art. They will come up with a concept, an idea or a message they would like their art piece to have, then pick a medium, and the materials they will use to create their artwork, before starting to create a work(s) of art for the Art Show at the end of Quarter 2. They will plan, create, revise, critique, and adapt their project throughout the quarter until they have a completed work of art including a title and artist statement about the work to present during the Art Show. Along the way, we will explore different mediums and methods for researching, planning, and creating art.

WMS Percussion Ensemble is open to all current WMS percussionists in grades 6-8. Meets Tuesdays after school from 3:20-4:00.

WMS Jazz Bands - 3 Options

Available: November - Mid-April

All WMS Jazz bands will be open to all current 6-8 grade band students. Auditions / sign-ups will take place in October and bands begin rehearsals in November. Links for registration will be on band Schoology pages in late September/early October. All bands conclude mid-April.
